Built in 1901 by the Town of Gravenhurst, The Opera House stands as a testament to the vision of Mayor Charles Mickle and the talent of architect Francis Browne. Inspired by the far reaching influences of his worldly travel, Browne created this masterpiece, by blending the disciplines of Gothic, French Renaissance, and English Vernacular architecture. Share your unforgettable moment on the stage, that has been host to Donald Sutherland, Diana Krall, Michael Burgess, Pavlo, Karen Cain and many other international stars.
MUSIC
The Opera House is home to a 1911, full size, Steinway grand piano, which, together with the unparalleled acoustics of the theatre, will leave your wedding song in the hearts of your guests for years to come. If you prefer, we are equipped with a state of the art modern sound system for prerecorded music.
THE TRILLIUM COURT
We can seat 100 guests comfortably for dinner in our intimate Trillium Court and offer the convenience of a licensed full service bar.
DRESSING ROOMS
Spacious dressing rooms provide convenience and comfort for the wedding party preparations.
